EcoCash, Zimbabwe’s largest mobile money platform has announced the introduction of the Rand Wallet.

This will allow you to cash in and out in the currency as it moves towards taking advantage of the multi-currency regime. Until now, transactions were only possible in US dollars.
The account will allow customers to send money, access payroll, pay bills and merchants in the currency.
What is key to note is that no cross rate is offered meaning you cannot withdraw in US dollars from your Rand Wallet. You can’t transfer from the Rand to USD account either.
The account can be activated through the Wallet Services on the platform.
