MSU students to march against late registration penalty fees

RE: Notification over a march against Late Registration Penalty Fees.

Dear Sir/Madam

We the bona fide MSU students come to your good office notifying you on our intended march against criminal late registration penalty fees being charged on a daily basis since the 4th of October 2016 pegged at $2 per day.

This notification is in line with school regulations in PART ii, Article11(1.1a)(v) of the SRC constitution that states that, “Has power to preside, after submitting a written notice 72 hours before proceedings to the Executive Dean of Students and the Vice Chancellor, over every demonstration or march within the university or that involves students.

Otherwise, such is illegal and will attract disciplinary measures’’.

According to the provisions of the SRC constitution such actions should be led by the President which in this case is ABSENT and this is a matter of urgency therefore we as the ordinary SRC members are now exercising this democratic right which is even guaranteed in the supreme law of the land.

The Constitution of Zimbabwe, Chapter 4, Part 2, Section 59 which states, “Every person has the right to demonstrate and to present petitions, but these rights must be exercised peacefully”.

We shall commence the march from the 13th of October 2016 from 1000hrs to 1300hrs on a daily basis until the administration has proffered a solution to our plight as the proud stake holders of this institution.
