UNICEF ZIM provides Smartphones for Collecting Near-Real Time Monitoring Data on Improvement of Chil

UNICEF Zimbabwe Tuesday handed over 100 smartphone tablets and 100 feature phones to the government be used by the ward and village Food and Nutrition Security Committees (FNSCs) for collecting near-real time data for the implementation of the Multisectoral Community-based Model for Stunting Reduction.

These smartphoneswill be distributed to 90 ward and 60 village FNSCs in the four pilot districts, which are Chipinge, Chiredzi, Mutasa and Mwenezi.

The 100 smartphone tablets are in addition to another 75 procured and distributed earlier in September 2015 and are being used in 20 learning wards in the four districts where the near-real time monitoring model is being initially tested for learning and best practices.

The two provincial FNSCs of the provinces where these pilot districts are located, i.e. Manicaland and Masvingo, and the four district FNSCs were also supported with computer equipment that included desktop computers, laptops, printers and accessories for use under this initiative.
